Overs to Balls Converter & Run Rate

Cricket writes overs in a special way: 19.4 overs means 19 overs and 4 balls, not 19.4 in the usual sense. Convert overs to balls, balls to overs, and see the true decimal value you need for any run-rate or NRR calculation.

Why it matters

If a team scores 160 in 19.4 overs, its run rate is 160 ÷ 19.6667 = 8.14, not 160 ÷ 19.4 = 8.25. Over a whole season of NRR calculations, that small error adds up. It can be the difference between third and fifth in a close table.

The number after the dot is always 0 to 5. There is no such thing as 19.6 overs, because the sixth ball completes the over and it becomes 20.
